| This is Suad. She is a woman from the city of Kassala in the east of Sudan, from the Beja tribe. | ||||||||||||||||
| She does not speak Arabic, but she speaks a language called "Tu-Bedaweye", one of the oldest languages in North Africa. |
||||||||||||||||
| Suad's family has many camels, sheep, and goats, and they move often from area to another. The main food she eats with her family is "Dura" (sorghum), and "Dukhun". Suad's favorite food is Aseedat dukhun with milk. | ||||||||||||||||
| Suad wears her "Farda" tobe, and likes to wear a lot of beads and sometimes a large nose-ring. Suad plays the rabbaba and dances with her friends. Suad's husband has a big afo, and wears a vest over his "araagi" and "sirwaal". | ||||||||||||||||
